The melody of gratitude; health, peace and mindfulness

Gratitude doesn’t have to be big and something doesn’t have to happen before you feel grateful.

As I rose this morning, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of awe and gratitude. There I was, alive and well, with no effort of my own a true testament to the blessings of the Almighty. The day stretched out before me, serene and calm, as if promising only good things to come. Tuesdays, I must admit, always have this melodic rhythm to them, and today was no exception.

I started my morning ritual with my gratitude journal in hand, scribbling the blessings that filled my heart. The first on the list: good health. It’s easy to overlook, isn’t it? But waking up without aches, without worries about your body, is a privilege not everyone enjoys. Next, I acknowledged the simple yet profound blessing of having a roof over my head. It’s a fortress against life’s storms, a sanctuary for my mind and body. Finally, I bowed in gratitude for the mercy of the Almighty, who grants me the ability to worship Him. Truly, where would I be without this guidance?

Then, my thoughts shifted to mindfulness a practice that has transformed my life in the most unexpected ways. This morning, I took a moment to send a heartfelt message to my mindfulness coach and mentor, Dr. Hauwa Bello. Now, let me tell you something about this incredible woman. She’s not just a coach; she’s a whole garden of wisdom and grace. If giving flowers is a token of appreciation, I’m giving her an entire garden roses, lilies, tulips, and maybe a baobab tree for good measure!

Dr. Hauwa’s approach to mindfulness is like watching an artist paint a masterpiece calm, intentional, and impactful. She doesn’t just teach; she embodies everything she stands for. Her warmth and wisdom are unparalleled. Honestly, if you haven’t come across her yet, you’re missing out. You’ll find her brilliance on Instagram and YouTube, or her website https://hauwaBello.com and trust me, she’s worth every second of your attention.

As the day progressed, work brought an unexpected twist. News of a colleague facing a deeply personal tragedy landed in our midst like a thunderclap. It was a stark reminder of how fragile life can be. In that moment, my heart swelled with gratitude for the peace and security I so often take for granted.

It’s easy to assume peace is the default setting of life, but in reality, it’s a rare gem in a chaotic world. The thought of my colleague’s pain made me hold my blessings closer, sending silent prayers for their comfort and strength. My colleagues and I came together, offering our support. It was a humbling experience, and it deepened my resolve to appreciate every ounce of peace in my life.

The Power of Gratitude and Mindfulness

Gratitude and mindfulness are like twin pillars, holding up the structure of my well-being. While gratitude gives me the eyes to see blessings, mindfulness teaches me how to savor them. Life isn’t perfect far from it but these practices help me navigate its highs and lows with grace.

Dr. Hauwa often says, “Mindfulness isn’t about avoiding challenges; it’s about facing them with clarity and strength.” That’s the lesson I leaned into today. Even amidst sadness, there’s always room for gratitude for the lessons, the love, and the moments of connection that life offers.

Now, let me invite you to pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Reflect on three things you’re grateful for today. Write them down. Let this be your mindfulness practice for the day. And if you’re curious about diving deeper into mindfulness, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring Dr. Hauwa Bello’s resources. She’s a beacon of light in this chaotic world, and her teachings might just change your perspective.

Today, gratitude felt like a symphony each note resonating with peace, health, and love. Life isn’t always smooth sailing, but moments like these remind me that gratitude is the anchor that steadies the ship.

So, here’s to health, mindfulness, and the mentors who guide us. Here’s to the peace we often overlook, and to the strength that comes from leaning into gratitude, even on the tough days.

Let’s carry this melody of gratitude into tomorrow and beyond.

  1. Wowww now you give me goosebumps. That was so beautiful 🤩 and sweet of you. Thanks so much for the feedback I really do appreciate it. I had being thinking of holding another mindfulness masterclass but kept convincing myself not to do it but with this feedback, I wonder if it is my Rabb (Lord) telling me to do it. Hummmm. Perhaps. Thanks again for this beautiful piece. It’s awesome. May your pen never go dry. Ameen.
