The healing power of laughter
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Laughing is a therapy our friends and family give us without charge.
I want to appreciate how easily humour entertains me and helps me deal with life's challenges. I call my friend to discuss a challenge, and after listening to me rant, she slid in a joke: "Wait a minute, are you saying the hen finally gave birth to a chicken?" That got me laughing, and then she provided a solution afterward.
There are days when you laugh at yourself for being silly. For example, "Why did the coffee file a police report? Because it got mugged." 😂 Sometimes you’re not so good at something, but you don't quit; you keep trying to get it done while incorporating a bit of humour. "We die here today, lol." 😂
Just yesterday, my friend and teacher were laughing about the bad English sentences we use here that have become normalized. For example, you hear, "Rain is falling." Please, was the rain standing before? Or, "The food smells good." Was it supposed to smell like fart, biko? Instead, it should be, "The food's aroma is appealing to my nostrils," or, "The food's aroma is amazing." Innocently, someone might give a compliment on perfume by saying, "You are smelling nice," 😂 instead of, "You scent nice." Or, "I can hear the perfume you are putting on." Abeg, since when did perfume have a ringtone? 😂
I am so grateful to the Almighty for giving us the creative mind to find humour in difficult situations. I'm also grateful to people who create comedy, especially the ones I can relate to. Shout out to Taoma for her creative and relatable content I admire her intelligence. ❤️ Most especially,
I'm grateful to the king of stand-up comedy, Kevin Hart. Man, that guy is good.
How does humour help you with challenges? Please share.
